Adanac reaches agreement with Taku River Tlingit over molybdenum mine study

VANCOUVER (CP) -- Adanac Moly Corp. said Thursday it has reached an agreement with the Taku River Tlingit First Nation on a three-month work plan for the company's Ruby Creek molybdenum project.

The natives are examining the project independently of the provincial environmental assessment process, and Adanac said it ''acknowledges and takes seriously TRTFN's rights and title within their territory, and as a gesture of good will is fully funding TRTFN's efforts in this preliminary stage of the project review.''

This phase is expected to be completed by August.

Adanac said it and the Taku River Tlingit ''have committed to develop a mutually co-operative, professional, and transparent relationship to progress the Ruby Creek project while respecting TRTFN rights and title within TRTFN territory.''
