WINNIPEG (CP) -- HudBay Minerals Inc. has named former Barrick Gold Corp. officer Jeff Swinoga its chief financial officer and a vice-president of the company.
The Winnipeg-based miner said Wednesday that Swinoga will be responsible for HudBay's financial activities and investor relations. He will take the position in October.
Swinoga was formerly director of treasury finance and assistant treasurer at Barrick [TSX:ABX].
HudBay [TSX:HBM] is an integrated mining and metal producing company that operates mines and concentrators in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan and a metal processing complex in Flin Flon, Man. It also operates a zinc oxide production facility in Brampton, Ont., and owns the former producing Balmat zinc mine in New York State, which is being evaluated for re-opening.
