VANCOUVER (CP) -- The results released Tuesday include a 6.2-metre section starting at a depth of 123 metres measuring 5.74 per cent copper, 3.55 per cent zinc, 1.85 grams per tonne gold and 98.9 grams per tonne silver.
The latest results from 36 holes follow a report in July on 13 holes, adding to 221 previous holes which resulted in an indicated resource estimate of 17.3 million tonnes grading 1.56% copper, 2.12% zinc, 0.29 grams per tonne gold and 26.1 grams per tonne silver.
An updated resource estimate is expected by year-end.
"The results of the 2008 drill program at the Kutcho copper project have so far exceeded our expectations," stated Sherwood CEO Stephen Quin.
"From the results received to date, it would appear that the high-grade mineralization has better continuity and is more extensive than previous drilling suggested and this bodes well for an updated resource model, once completed, and for enhanced project economics."
