A Dutch firm, Kema, presently is doing a feasibility study to finalise the location of the EUR3-3.5 billion project in the North Sea. When complete it should power 2 million homes in the Netherlands. The 6 km x 4 km facility is expected to be constructed 24-32 km off the Dutch coast, in waters about 20 m deep. Its output should complement that of planned wind farms.
