Time for metals jitters?

Forget the drilling results and ignore the spruiking on the chatroom sites -- instead, just look at the metals inventories.

The London Metal Exchange stockpile of aluminium fell by 2500 tonnes overnight. Big deal. Look at what is still in LME warehouses - 4.59 million tonnes, just 38,650 tonnes off its 52-week high.

Lead inventories are at a 52-week high of 135,125 tonnes and zinc likewise at 450,675 tonnes. Tin is just 95 tonnes short of its 52-week zenith (of 26,985 tonnes) and nickel is also just a whisker shy of its peak stockpile figure for the past year.
