Copper, silver futures rise after Chile aftershock

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Copper and silver futures rose on Thursday after reports that Chile, the world's largest copper producer, was hit by an aftershock to last month's earthquake, with tremblors this time measured at magnitude 7.2.

In Feb. 27, an 8.8 quake hit the country, leading copper prices to jump nearly 6%.

Thursday, several tremors believed to be aftershocks hit the central-south region of Chile.
