Aussie trade minister warns China over iron ore negotiations

Australian Trade Minister Simon Crean has warned the Chinese government to keep out of increasingly fraught negotiations between Chinese steel mills and iron ore miners, which the Rudd government fears could erupt into a diplomatic row.

The 10 leading steel mills have written to China's premier, Wen Jiabao, asking for the government to take up the issue of rising iron ore import prices at a national level.
