Not only will I be participating in a number of very dynamic panels, but I will also be moderating a debate between Tim and Bill Murphy of the Gold Anti-trust Action Committee (Gata). Bill, as listeners of my radio program know, is a firm believer in the idea that the price of gold is not determined by free markets but is unjustly manipulated by outside forces. Tim has the opposite view.
The guests who appear regularly on The Korelin Economics Report are split on this issue.
Those in the camp of James Turk, Jay Taylor and Roger Wiegand believe that Bill is correct. Others, including Jon Nadler of Kitco and analyst Paul van Eeden, disagree.
These experts and many others have discussed this subject with me on the air and, I must say, all have compelling arguments.
I have tried, albeit unsuccessfully, in the past to get someone to debate Bill on our program. Bill has said he is willing to debate “anyone at anytime”. Members of the other side; however, in the past have not been so anxious.
Tim is a very intelligent and well-educated individual and I am convinced that, if anyone can convince Bill (or the audience) that the Gata argument has flaws it is he.
Plan on attending that program. It will be both informative and high-spirited.
The Las Vegas Show will again give everyone the opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with some of the regular guests on our radio program. We will be recording the Weekend Edition of The Korelin Economics Report at our workshop there and I always welcome participation from the audience.
Let me tell you, when you think you are on top of it with all of your economic thoughts, get involved in a conversation with Jay Taylor, Greg McCoach, David and Eric Coffin, Roger Wiegand or Sean Rakhimov. When you do, leave your ego at the door because these guys might just teach you a thing or two. You can interact with these experts and others either at our workshop or at other venues offered at the Show.
The Gold Show in Las Vegas organized by International Investment Conferences represents a great educational opportunity available to anyone who is interested in investing in hard assets. It also provides attendees with the ability to talk one on one with members of the upper management of many publicly traded resource companies. Bottom line, it is a forum where you can obtain the best insurance available against investment losses. That insurance is called “knowledge”. I look forward to seeing all of you there.
