Over the past 15 years we have seen the most massive deregulation of financial oligarchs in civilized history. During the same period, any non-oligarch entrant into the finance world has discovered that life in a super-max prison would be less restrictive.

The US is a great place to be an oligarch. You are permitted to steal with impunity from people who are too brain dead to notice they are being robbed. Also in the US it is inexpensive to gain oligarch status.
