Willem Middelkoop and Terence van der Hout of the Netherlands-based Commodity Discovery Fund believe that when the world's reserve currency is reset away from the U.S. dollar in the next decade, gold prices will rise and mining equities will follow.
While miners rallied strongly higher during the final three months of gold's 1980 parabola, they were no match for the rocket launch of the precious metal itself, as gold literally more than doubled in this time period.
Expect gold to continue climbing higher. That is after all, its primary trend. But look for the price of the mining stocks to start climbing even more rapidly than gold. The mining stocks are on the runway and ready for take-off.
